3 neighbouring spaces in central Athens, each with its own character and usage, are opening up for the public. 4 artists, Eva Marathaki, Christos Michaelides, Eleni Bagaki and Leontios Toubouris will be presenting their work, redefining each space, over 3 consecutive Sundays.
In the 343 Art Project the four artists, through their shared everyday experience and contact, experiment in different creative environments, inviting the public to enter their dialogue. Each time different work will be shown - each Sunday will be very, very different!

About the artists:
Eva Marathaki

Eva Marathaki graduated in 2001 from the University of North London (BA French/Spanish & Latin American Studies) and continued her studies at the Athens School of Fine Art (ASFA), graduating in 2010. She is on the Fine Arts Postgraduate programme of the ASFA since October 2011. She was the recipient of the Excellence Award “Georgios Iakovides” (2010) by the Nikolaos Papadimitriou Educational and Cultural Foundation, and the “Early Artist Entry Award” for the Artists Wanted: The Power of Self 2011 international open call.
She has participated in various exhibitions both in Greece and abroad such as: Public Domain, Supermarket Art Fair, Lo and Behold (Stockholm, Sweden), Justice is Mine, CAMP: Contemporary Art Meeting Point (Athens, Greece), Drawing Room, Omikron Gallery (Nicosia, Cyprus), ROOMS TO LET, Action Field Kodra (Thessaloniki, Greece).
Christos Michaelides

Christos Michaelides was born in London in 1983. He studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Art under A. Christakis and G. Kontaratos (2005-2010) and at the Slade School of Fine Arts in London as part of the European student exchange programme Socrates - Erasmus under a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) (2008). He has participated in various group shows.
Eleni Bagaki

Eleni Bagaki graduated from Central Saint Martins (MA Fine Art) in 2006 and lives in Athens. In 2007 she was the recipient of the ISIS Art prize, and was nominated for tha Celeste Painting Prize. In the past year she has started a project involving a series of shows where she invites artists to co-curate and present their work together in pop up art spaces: Wild Wild Wilderness (with Maria Anastassiou), With and Without You (with Nikos Gaganis) and One Night Stand (with Leontios Toubouris and Kynthia Livaniou). In 2012 she presented a series of collages in the first issue of LUST magazine and also participated in the first LUST party with the exhibition Sex, Birds and Rocks.
She has participated in various group shows such as: Body Extensions at the Museum of Contemporary Art & Design (Lausanne, Switzerland ,2005), Quixotic Vision, curated by Matt Roberts, Dollinger Art Project (Tel Aviv, Israel, 2007), The Painting Room, Transition Gallery (London, UK, 2008), Group in Fusion, curated by Michael Anderson & Marianna Panagiotoudi (Athens, Greece, 2011).
Leontios Toubouris

Leontios Toubouris was born in Cyprus in 1982. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Art (2004 - 2009) and graduated with a First. He attended classes at the Koninklijke Academie van BeeldendeKunsten [Royal Academy of Art] (The Hague, Netherlands) under a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) during the academic year 2007-2008. He has participated in various group shows in Greece and abroad including: Picnic Bag Small, Cucosa (Rotterdam, The Netherlands), New Artists Open Call 2010 organised by the Moni Peristeras Cultural Centre of the University of Ioannina, at the Municipal Gallery of Ioannina, Notes to Self, Omikron Gallery (Nicosia, Cyprus).
Zoe Charaktinou
Zoe Charaktinou was born in Athens, Greece. Between 1999 and 2010 she lived in the UK where she studied Media, Communication & Film Studies (2002). In 2010 she graduated from the MFA Curating programme at Goldsmiths Gollege, Lodnon. From November 2010 she has been working at the Athens Biennale as Curatorial Assistant for the 3rd Athens Biennale 2011 MONODROME. From December 2010 until Dcember 2011 she was the Assistant Curator of XYZ Outlet. From 2005 onwards she has curated and co-curated various exhibitions and projects in the UK. Her practice moves along an axis of dialogue with the artists and the public,and she is interested in particular in the creation of exhibitions in non-traditional art spaces, and the redefinition of the notion of the art exhibition. Her research focuses on the inherent political dimension of art. 343 Art Project is her first personal project in Greece.
